- Robin's Rose -

I think this is my own personal favourite pastel drawings this year. I used a lot of time on it to really get that smooth rich skin colour and to capture an expression. The model used is beautiful Robin, from a bunch of photos she did for me. Absolutely loved her photo and pictured my drawing right away. I did the rose in white as I felt it would be too bright had I gone with my original thought. I am happy with the over all feel of this one and the background took me quite some time too. I did something different this time by creating the background first and put a lot of time into it. Usually I start with the face and do the background in the end. I like doing it this way, because I feel I put more time into it without the distraction of the main subject.
