From all the beginning artist you do the opposite, LOL. I think you brought in too much contrast, regarding the sub-areas and details. What it is all about is a balance in your own style. You see, there are very strong transitions, while others are relatively too weak, making particularly the nose looks shifted then it really is. Remember that shading causes illusions on both ref and drawing. It seems real negative what I'm saying, but you have potential for realism. The expression is good it is just a contrast problem. My two cents is to observe the total drawing as whole and the compare back to the local shadings.
