Okay, so I have been at Zindy's site for awhile now, and finally decided to join the forum. I have never really been involved with the whole forum idea, but I would love, just love to be able to draw half as well as Zindy- and have no idea where to start.
You see, I have it in my head that doing something over and over won't make you any better at it, you are just as good as you're going to get- so I have no motivation. And I have a low self-esteem regarding my artwork- which is pretty nonexsistent seeing I ruin each peice. I go and think I have done a nice job- then I look at someone else's and go- "Ack! So embarrissed. .." So I joined, looking for guidaince, and advice, and my question- does practice really actually affect how well you draw? Oh that sounds so dumb. But I just hate practicing anything cause, well, I don't ever seem to get anything accomplished Sorry that was long- I tend to get wordy (silly habit) |

As soon as I read your post I knew we had the right thread for you:
http://zindy.zone.dk/forum/showthread.php?t=6895 In this one, several of our members show their art "then and now" it's amazing to see the improvements everyone have made. I hope that can inspire you. Oh - and welcome |

Hi and welcome.
I really think you can come a long way being motivated, practise and simply love what you do. No one is born the perfect drawer, everyone needs practice I think. One thing that most have in common is the feeling of not being good enough. And that’s kind of what makes art so great, at least to me, you always get better and you can always do something new, never gets boring So just keep practising and you will see |
