Default Prints and originality

I really struggle with the question if I should sell prints of my drawings. I have always thought it took the originality out of a drawing if I did offer prints. With that I mean, it wouldn’t be as original to own a drawing that 1000 others could own as well.
At the same time I think it would be nice if people would like to have a drawing of mine on their wall, especially people that can’t afford the original drawings.
I have been thinking about this for months now and still haven’t found a solution.
What’s your opinion on this. Does selling prints take the originality out of a drawing? Or is it okay?

I think its a good idea, espically for fairy drawings and things like that. More money is always a good thing aswell.

I think prints is a good idea, as many ppl can own it for a good price.

But I personally think it's special to own the original

I think it's a good idea too. But I would keep the original drawing yourself and sell prints to others of course.

Maybe others don't think that way, but I'm attached to each of my own drawings and I'd like to keep them myself.

basically what i was gonna say, you could make a lot of money from prints of ur drawings, i think its a good idea....i cant seem to get a print account on Deviant, my pics will never be the right size...so once we have the money, i would like to sell prints myself of my art! i personally dont buy prints, cause its easy to just print them off myself, so i always like when the artists signs it...has more meaning...but it would be a great way to make more money definetely

Zindy you can always have limited prints on your drawings. In that way it's still special to have one of your drawings if there are only few others that have the same one.

i agree with the others and say that it's okay to sell prints but i think they should be cheaper than the originals & signing would make them special anyway

Why not... It's almost like selling photos as poster.... Wouldn't it be nice to know that 100 people have your drawings on their walls? BUT for sure if you have the original it's the best!! Like if you own Mona Lisa

Personally I gave away many of my drawings ... once I have a copy of it in my pc I don't necessaryly need the original anymore... even if the original looks better. There are some drawings I want to keep but only 10 I think.
