about a month ago, i got a book about drawing portraits from the library and decided to start drawing. these are the first ones good enough to post. the first one isn't finished yet, but i thought i'd put it up anyway. i would really appreciate any comments or tips. thanks!

thanks! it's supposed to be kate winslet, from the picture on the cover of vogue magazine, but it doesn't really look like her.

Hello and Welcome to the forum!
I like the first and third..hmm I think in the third one, the eyes aren't quite aligned. One is upper than the other. I like the shading on the third one.And maybe go darker in the Kate one? Or that's just me...

thank you! yeah, the third one was really my first try, and every time i look at it i like it less. oh well, i'll keep trying. the first one isn't finished, and it's my first portrait with colored pencils. i'm kind of afraid to go darker, but i guess i have to i live in maine i notice you're from montreal! i was there just a few weeks ago with my dad!

Yes i'm from Montréal! Actually, in the very west of Montreal, near the airport (Dorval) et je suis francophone héhé..
