Eric's drawings- New 18/9/11

i like that drawing a lot, you did a good job on it. I guess the eyes are a bit too big but for the rest it's a very nice drawing!

You have really nice shading!
As for the hair, take it in blocks or areas and not just one downward direction. The left eye could use some shading along the upper lashline because it looks like its opened far more than the other one. In the reference picture, you can see the left eye has quite a shadow over the brow bone (under the eyebrow) so that conceals part of the lashes.

The lips look a bit un-smooth. Lips do have those ridges in them but they are usually more spaced apart.
Keep going though! You're off to a great start!
