Default Help needed (freckle trouble)

Can anyone please give me some advice about drawing freckles? [That is, ones that don't look like my pencil attacked my paper and tried to poke it to death...]

draw them with a very soft pencil like a 7B. Then smudge them. That's how I have done them before.

You could also try using an old well worn stump (tortillon).
