Default Hair

Hey, i've been drawing for about a year now, and i'm starting to get the hang of shading and proportions, but i just can't draw hair properly, i was wondering if you could tell me the sort of technique i could use to get hair how Zindy did in this picture... http://zindy.zone.dk/html/drawings/s...ica_alba24.htm
Thanks a lot
Alyisa

Hi,

I am terrified of starting the hair on my new drawing but I am going to try a simular technique on this one that I have just started of Christina Aguilera

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3.../Scan10001.jpg

I think if we section the thick setions of hair in the places that we want them just start using soft strokes and also, sharp pencils for the finer hairs and details, we will eb ok
Hope this helps

I actually start with the hair first.. well generally anyway. I definatly find drawing hair to be the hardest. I have no suggestions really, i'm still trying to work it all out for myself .

All i would say is draw in the obviouse sections in the hair and where the hair goes in different directions to the main body...

Ok, i don't even know if that made sense :P

But goodluck and sorry i have no answers.

Here are my 2 cents:
Hair sucks !
I guess it's the miracle of patience, that makes it perfect (at least makes it look like hair actually )

Don't try to draw every single strand of hair because it will look like a helmet at the end. Draw the space in between the hair, it is very hard to train the eye to see but when you get it down it will make all the difference in the world.
