Default In Colour!

As a regular visitor to your site, I agree with Thunder that you should try some portraits in colour. With the quality of your current artwork you should have no problems adapting to colour. Go on, have a go!

Hey Paul,

I will do a coloured face as soon as I can afford some soft coal pastels. The one I have is not that good after all... Maybe I will have the money next month

Finally I've made a colour portrait. I'd love to have some critique/comments about it so that I can get better =)

Her skin colour looks a bit weird. I think I have to get some more colours besides light pink and brown.
Which colour is skin anyway?

that depends a lot on the subject....but usually its a good idea to try a blend som colours beforehand so that you can find the right tone before you start the picture. Good colours for this are white, pink, and a range of the brown colours....

Your picture of CA is very good....have actually been considering doing a similar one myself....

Its a great drawing of Christina. I have a small selection of colours which I have found to be the most useful...
Raw Sienna, Burnt Sienna, Burnt Umber, Brown Ochre, Yellow Ochre, Golden Brown, Rose Madder Lake, Flesh Pink and purple (for the shadows).
I also find that water-soluble (DERWENT) pencils are best for blending due to their waxy texture.

Is that a little too much info?
