Lightbulb ! HELP !Out of Inspiration

Hello again Zindy forum, some of you may have noticed that i have taken a break from both zindy-zone and deviantART , that is because i don`t actually have any new drawings to post. I`ve been in kind of a rut...for about 3 years...i can't find any inspiration and i feel like i`m loosing my creativity and skill. I thought maybe some of you know what i am talking about and have some advice for me.

It isn`t only affecting me as an artist but my school work as well. I should finish school this year but because i don`t actually know how to get out of this rut i failed too many exams to pass the year and have to repeat it. I don`t know what to do please help me if you can.

I will be very thankful for everyone of your advices.

Thank you ,Sena

P.S.:I`ve missed you all ! kisses

Have someone break your heart, that should do the trick
I personally always found inspiration in my emotions, mainly sadness/struggle.
I don't know how you found your inspiration before?
There is many things you can do to get inspired, I find a lot of mine when I walk or is around nature. Places where I can relax and just let my mind go.
Forcing creativity just don't work and often have a negative effect.

Sorry to hear you are failing, that's sad.
I hope you can find your passion again somehow or maybe if you can't it might not be what you future is?

heyy sena!
Of course I remember you, you're such a sweet person! Please do come back =)

I often get inspired when I just go through lots of references and then something catches my eye... Maybe the butterfly and moth contest can be a good way to get you started again, too- sometimes it's easier to look for inspiration with a little context. Heartbreak does help but it's not pretty so I do not advise it

I hope to see you around<3

Hi Sena! I've been in a rut for 5-6 years and I just came out of it recently and have started to draw again. It's been an emotinal rollercoaster for me and I really thought that I would NEVER draw again. The reason why I got inspired again was because I got rid of that cloud over my head, which was school. When I stopped drawing, I was in middle of high school and everything kinda sucked and I almost failed everything. But I manage to pass and got into university right after graduation but everything repeated again there.

So now, after 3 years in university and failed getting my diploma in time, I have put it behind me for now and just focusing on work. I'm taking a break from school since it has taking my energy for 5 years and I know I can finish it later when I am ready for it. And I have moved again to a small "village" with my boyfriend and we feel like we have landed. I feel like I have landed and everything is in balance, for now. And I can draw again without feeling bad for neglecting school.

I don't know if this helped much, but I wanted to share my story

Maii you have no ideea how much that helps!...it`s exacly my story . i stopped drawing in the middle of high school ,then i got into the university of design and i feel bad all the time for failing it, but my parents are pressuring me to finish because, since they never went to colledge they expect me to make a better life than them, witch isn`t a bad ideea i just wish they would let me do it in my own time. i think now since there are only 2 months untill my graduation i just feel more stressed than ever. even the part were you move with your bf to a smaller town is exact since me and my bf talked about moving to a smaller town when i finish this year...it`s acctually a very freaky coincidents how this part of our life matches i acctually feel a bit calmer knowing that maybe after i finish this year i could go back to my normal life...witch i missed a lot!

Thank you again so so much!!

I'm glad that it helped make you feel a bit better Is it already final that you have to repeat a year? Cause if it is, there is nothing to do than accept it, enjoy the summer and collect strength and motivation to August. Just because you can't finish school in the time you want doesn't mean you won't ever graduate, it will just take a little more time.

You are not losing your skill, if you get started again you'll see that it's all still there! Only the getting started again is the hard part isn't it Maybe you can find inspiration in blogs? Esther wrote about a interesting blog a while ago: http://abeautifulmess.typepad.com/

I feel a bit like you at the moment. I'm pretty sure that I will get my Design University Bachelor degree in three weeks but I was not accepted for the Master degree class because I did not have any creative ideas for a masterproject. It sucks if everyone expects you to be creative at command. For me it helps if I lower my own expectations, just doing something without thinking what the teachers might think.
