I think it would be great if you published a "how to" drawing book. I know you have tutorials but I think a hands on book you sold online would benefit a lot of aspiring artists!

I do agree it would be amazing to have a book of yours, Zindy. Although I do understand it would require a lot of time to work on it, I think it would be a success and it would help many amateur artists

The reason I think Zindy would be a great one to make a book is she is a very advanced artist. Most books are aimed towards beginners. I have been drawing for many years. A lot of "how to" draw books I look at I feel like "been there, done that" I would like to start working with some books that are more advanced. Also so many young women artists love Zindy's style with the fantasy art. And unfortunately there are no workbooks for this style.

I totally agree. All the books I see sold that cover the topic of how to draw portraits are more or less rubish. The sading is usually hideous. I basically self-taught myself just from Zindy's tutorials- a book would've helped a lot. I guess I'd still buy it to find out more about the fine details

Sorry I didn't reply sooner to this thread. I've had a tutorial book in progress since 2007, along with my artbook which I started in 2006. Unfortunately they are still not completely ready to be published. There's been a lot the past years with moving too much and I need complete peace to work at something as important as this. Both of the books are in pieces but not a whole yet - that's the hard part, putting the last finish to a book. Especially since these will be my first =)
Most of the tutorial sections are ready but not all of them. Is there anything in particular you feel is important to include - some info that would help you to learn? Since it's not done yet I am very open to ideas as I might be able to include them. I was glad to see this thread by the way, knowing you would be interested in a tutorial book. |

Sorry it took me so long to reply on this one, I didn't see you replied Zindy. I would love to see a complete face one of a celebrity. Especially some lessons on midtones. I draw with extreme contrasts. I would like to see how the more advanced artists are able to to draw/shade the gray tones evenly without it being messy or overshaded

I think that you should check out Ileana Hunter's DeviantArt and Etsy. She draws with extreme contrast and I think that you should also look into the style of art she is more accustomed to working with. I think that you would benefit from it. Now, the only thing I should warn you about is that she has no tutorials, but I think that you could learn just by looking at her art. If you need any help with eyes, I am more accustomed to work with them, as they are my subject of practice. You can check my deviantart as well and see if you are interested.
