Default Email woes...

Hi All.
Does anyone else suffer with excessive email spam and junk mail through their websites? As my art site takes more hits, there seems to be an increase in junk mail. Now that I have learnt a bit more about building websites and hiding email links within html code, I have managed to lessen the quantity of these emails.

Are there any good tips to avoid these unwanted emails?

Ha, I wish I could say I suffer from the same but alas I don't. I'm having no luck with getting any response from my website at all. I went to ineedhits as suggested to get a bit more traffic through my site but I'm not sure if it seems to be working. Any body got any more tips?

Hi Bo.
There is one problem which is the loading time of your site. The logo on your homepage is in the wrong format (PNG) and is 175kb in size. PNG format is not friendly to all browsers. Stick to JPEG or GIF and a logo banner should be no more than 16kb. Have you tried submitting to free search engines? Google is one of the best, also Altavista. Your site does not have any embedded Meta descriptions for automatic search engines to use.
If your site is hosted by GeoCities or someone similar, put your site into their Members Directories. This is a sure way to get hits.
Does that help?

That's a great help thanx. I'm not the one who makes up my site so I'll make sure I pass all the information onto my other half.

Default An idea

Hey Bo,

I have an idea, though I don't know much about how to get more hits other that connecting to searchengines as Paul have already mentioned.
When I search for a person on google, I often find my own drawings, specially the large ones, so maybe you should make some huge versions on some of your drawings. I don't know if it will work, just an idea
I think google works in the way that the more hits you get and the more people link to your site you have a bigger chance by getting your site link shown in some of the first pages.
By the way, I nearly had any visitors the first 1,5 years I had my site (only about 10 hits a day), but the last year I have got much more visitors. Maybe you should just be patient and wait for people to get to know your work and site.
