Here is my latest. I started this one last week. As you can see, it scanned horribly. I have alot of shading to do, and I need to repair her lips, LOL

I love the hair. I think it's still good but perhaps the face is a little wrong? I think the middle of the chin is not the middle of the face. So, perhaps it's a little shifted (the right word? :?: )? Because of that the face is too long on the right side. So, i think. I hope i haven't criticized too much.
But the eyes are really good. They're so nice. ;)

I think it looks good, esp. the hair :D

Thanks for the advice, all! Yeah, I need to fix that right cheek. I actually started on another sketch and will come back to Jennifer Anniston this week. As much as I love drawing hair, I have to say that doing such blonde hair is a real challenge for me...you'd think it would be easier, with not that much to shade in, but it really was hard.

Hi, everyone!

It's been a while since I have posted. Went on vacation in August, then had to get the kids ready to head back to school. Here is my lastest WIP: I need to repair the right eye (OOO it bothers me!), add details to the shirt, and I need to work on the beard near the neckline. I hope to finish it by weeks' end!

Omg.. that's wonderful.. You are really great at hair, and your shading looks excellent.
I just love the way you did his beard. :) You certainly got a very good technique.

that's realy beautiful :) love the hair, and that warm color it has (but i guess that's because of the scan?).

Really nice work, the hair in particular is excellent, the shading is really good too, nice and smooth.

Thanks! Yeah, the hair, although I enjoyed doing it, was very hard. I think the hardest thing about it was trying to get a sharp, chisled edge on my erasers! I went through 2 of them, breaking them apart. I wish I could find the old "typewriter erasers" that look like pencils. I don't know what happened with the color! I didn't alter it...weird!

i'm wondering, what kind of erasers do you mean? i guess it's not those kind of

cause if there are any better out there.. i'd love to know :D

Yes, Mfrog, those are exactly what I meant! I haven't been able to find any in the art supply stores, so I "googled" them and found these:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v69/binobina/Art%20stuff/t10_erasers1.jpg Staedtler's stick erasers. I want to try these because you can sharpen them to a fine point. Here is where I found them:

Hi, everyone, and a belated HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I've had some drama in my life, lately, and that's why I have not only been away, but I haven't been able to draw for a bit. Things are better, now, and I've been drawing a little.

I still have not finished Jennifer Aniston...I grew very frustrated with this drawing and I may not finish it. I did start a new one...one that my ten year old son has requested. It's funny, but I thought this one would be easy...how wrong could I be!? I am extremely frustrated with the hair. I finally put it away this morning, as I knew...and this happens to me alot, that if I try to continue drawing while I'm frustrated, the entire drawing gets ruined. So, I'm taking a breather...and will get back to it later today...here is a peek:

If anyone has some suggestions for that hair...by all means, bring it ON!
;) Mary

you are amazing. Your new drawing looks incredible. The hair is gorgeous and so realistic.
