youve been drawing since december? thats very very nice work for such a short period of time. and for someone as young as you, youll be really good at a young age. the kristen kreuk close up is awesome with the shading and proportions all about right. i like the kissing one, michelle gellar, and the one from the tshirt looks cool too.

i think with more practice youll be great. some things to work on might be some proportion and shading, some of the shading look a little unnatural, you can still see the lines, unless that was what you wanted to do.

otherwise you have great stuff, and you should keep posting your work.

p.s. yea water is really hard to draw. its easier to paint, heh but im glad you liked it

Your sister is really pretty. I love this drawing and that's really obvious that she's such an important person for you. That's what I like the most in drawings: Feelings. You've done it very well.

Your drawings were in chronological order I think? Sarah Michelle Gellar is awesome :shock: and you've made so much progress in such a short time.

Keep drawing and working on the shadings. For the rest, you need to practice, but you have talent, there's no doubt about it.

You're getting handy with shadings already, Kirsten Kirk is your best portrait.

Hm, critisism? Well maybe try to loose the 'lines' in your drawings and replace them with shadows, like the arms in the drawing of Natalie Portman. But actually that's not an advice, I don't know what your attempt is: realistic drawing? Your faces are getting along nice, sometimes I draw with lines too :)

yeah that one is nice...very well done...might make a good tatoo, but not for me. Very nice drawings, your proportion skills make a huge improvement from the first to second drawing. Keep it up.

... I'm pretty unhappy about that picture for some reasons: the photo reference she gave me was pretty bad - it was printed out and very small.
.. she does not look as cute as usually in that picture because she picked one in which she looks quite old
... and I didn't get in properly :(

Joane, I like the Lana pic the best, the second one is Keira.... Both are very nice.

The only advice from me is to work a little on the proportions.... but you'll see, the more pics you draw, the easyer it gets :)

I like your drawings. And you can see that you're improving with every drawing.
I think the drawing of Keira Knightley is the best you've drawn.
Perhaps you could make the lines in the fairy drawing a bit more smooth. Then it would be more plastic.

Heya Joane,

your a very talented artist.. and you can see how much your improving with each drawing.. my favourites would definetly be of Kristen Kruek and Kiera Knightley. Though that fairy is pretty cool too. (the one without the hands) If your still looking for advice on the hands I'd have her right hand flattened out or spread out (as if shes reaching for something...) and her left hand supporting er body, either flat or slightly risen (put your hand flat on a desk and keeping your fingers relatively straight, pull the finger tips towards your wrist.)

Keep up the good work and i hope to see more soon :D.
btw, i was just wondering if you worked in any other mediums apart from pencil... ?

Yes I've tried to work with coal but since the drawings get so dark and I often have very bright references not too often...
most of the time I actually use graffit pencils ( hopefully the word I used is the right one...)

this pic was drawn from crappiest reference pic i ever drew from !!!
( what happened a lot ina australia lol) it was a very small unclear computer printout of a damn dark photo
of one of my classmats - Tanya, and since her name means 'fairy queen'
she asked me to draw her as a fairy *lol*
so I just made up shadows and details :D
unfortunately i had to scan before i drew the teeth ad then I gave it away to her so that is not the very end result...

school started again and I have so many exams and I am still busy with my economics project .... hopefully i will still find the time to draw & paint on


this one I did on holidays... i was in such a bad mood so I drew this zombie girl- the reference was a pic of rachel bilson ( summer in O.C.) , but i changed her mouth cuz I didn't want her to smile^^

I don’t think she look zombie like or scary, just a person with very light eyes. I like the dark eyes better :)
I like the Fairy Valley as well although to me it looks like someone dying seeing the light in the end of the tunnel and the thing in the front looks like wings about to unfold and fly…
Both looks nice, seems lie you enjoy coal :)

this is an oil i had to do for school although i do really not like the technique- it's impressionism and I'm such a realsit... i hated doing it but i think it turned out quite well...

welll... this is my 1st cp ever and i am so happy with it- especially the skin tone :)
only a little upset about the left eye cuz it's a little too small & on the photo i took is looks less shaded than the right one ( from our point of view) but that's only cuz of the crappy photo- I'll try to scan it soon but it's A3 and my scanner's only A4... and the color of the eyes in general is not really satisfying- i need lots of practice, but it's really fun to draw with colors.

wow joane, this is beautiful!! the hair is gorgeous, the skin tone is perfect, and the lips are amazing. the left eye does look a bit weird because it's not as shaded as the other one, and i think the nose is a bit weird too, but i don't know the ref pic so i can't really say. but anyway, you are really good at colours, and you've also improved a lot on proportions!!

she is wayyyy much darker in the pic and so much more beautiful & the eye color is different and i left out the shirt& necklace

hey joane, i just compared the your drawing with the picture, and i can telle you why they are not completely alike (your nose is thinner and more square than hers, your mouth is not as wide, and more open, etc...) but actually, even though adriana lima is beautiful, i think your drawing is more beautiful!! (my sister just walked in when i was comparing the two, pointed too your drawing and said "celle la elle est plus belle"-don't think i need to translate;)). anyway, the most disturbing thing is the eye, but i think a little bit more shading would make it fine, especially as you got one ou of the two eyes perfect. and if you have the courage you really should try to make her nose less square, but i especially think you should just be very proud of you drawing cause it deserves it!

That looks really good Joane. I think you have done very well with the skin tones, they look so realistic. The colour of her lips and eyes are very nice too. I do agree with coralay about the nose being thinner on your drawing. But still, i think you have done a wonderful job on this. :D

advice??? What for? It looks very good. If you don't want to do the background why don't you make it blurred... so thant you can see what is sky and what is ground but nothing more...
