I'm new here and fairly new at drawing. NOW I see that the suggested way to post here is to show all your drawings in one message thread, as you produce them.

Ignore my other threads. This is where I will post all my drawings, news and views, and bore you with what I think (blog!)

My main display site is at Yahoo Photos. They shrink all drawings to the same standard size. Click on any thumbnail. If you want to see more detail you could download the full-sized thing, if you were really interested:

But I have two drawings loaded on a webspace too. I will try to embed a few images right here. I love my scanner, it is better than trying to take photos:

THE EARLY BEATLES:

Drawing of a friend:

The two is all I got so far in direct Web-storage. I know, I know, you may say the shading looks rough. I draw small, in a handy 5"x8" sketchbook that I take anywhere.

You can check my Yahoo photo-site for more.

Well, I've been blabbing more than drawing, but I went back to my favourite karaoke bar where they have murals of old rock stars and 50's movie stars, so I drew James Dean:

(As usual, Yahoo Photos shows a drawing in a uniform small size; you can download the full-sized file for more detail).

There is a little progress because I'm learning not to leave so much white space in a portrait. Every part of the skin should have a tone except for true, bright highlights.

Anyway, this semi-beginner tells all true beginners not to be over-awed by the longtime artists here. It IS possible to learn to draw realistically; I'm drawing for 1.8 years and counting.

I thought so too, the head and hair are waaaaay too big for the eyes, nose, mouth....

Hehehe, yeah, it's possible. I made the mistake of keeping a drawing tablet flat on a table as I was looking at the mural on the wall. I'll know to angle the tablet to face me next time. His hair was swept back but I made it worse.
