i just wanted to show you this little something i've made in drawings class :D i hope you like them!

The firt advice I would give you is to use more shadings and go darker on your drawings.

As Simon already said, work more with the shading, make it darker and it will look more alive. Also when drawing hair try making it more like straws (I’m referring to the Orlando portrait).

The last drawing is a bit small so it is not easy to recognize details. But as far as I can see you did a good job on the shading, especially on her neck and the forehead. The proportions are ok so far. I hope you post the drawing when it's done. I want to see how you draw the hair :-)
As Zindy already said you should try to draw it by making straws. I think your talented. ust work a bit on the shadings and try to go much darker.

oh btw, in the orlando bloom drawing.. as i said before, or so i think, i did it in drawings class.... we were not allowed to make straws for the hair, nor use rubers, SO, i didn't have a choice.

i will try to make the shadows darker, but i'm a bit afraid to spoil the drawing by making them too dark!!!!

I think it looks interesting. Though I think it would be really fun to see the finnished drawings with the hair finnished and the clothing as well. You are solving a problem many artists got. That is that you seem not to be too afraid of going dark. That is a major problem that most of us got. Now with that solved I think you should lay your energy on making details.

How large is the paper you draw on? And wich pencils do you use?

If you are doing it on A4 another tip would be to either use the whole paper or even better, buy A3 paper!!! The size helps a lot !! For me it does anyway :) There is room for much more details on larger paper.

With the "no fear of the dark" thing I meant that many artists draw too bright because they are affraid of spoiling the drawing if they draw to dark. But the latest of your drawings seems not to be too bright at all :) Thats what I meant.

Yes but do notice that I meant the last one. The earlier one I think need much more darks as well. :) But people are getting better you know :)

the fantasy drawing looks quite good. I'm waiting to see the final version ;) At the Orlando drawing I would add some "lines" in the hair. And I also think that the eyes are a little to light... On your drawing it looks like he would have light blue ones.. not brown.

the work in process is a fantasy girl, though i personaly think that her mouth and nose kinda look like liv taylor's... but thats just me. :)

the mouth is on a slant compared to the nose, i think the thing that you maybe laching, is the colour technique, usually with skin toning, i usually go over the face with a very light yellow- and dont press down so hard, and then i build up with and orange in the dark places, and then a maroon, and then brown to define the shaded places, dont press really hard, just lightly shade in, and also the eye seems a little to wide <-------------------> and maybe a little too scattery on the eye lashes, good first try tho ;) and its from your head so it makes it even harder, but ncie going,

also the pupil seems liek a pin prick- maybe make that bigger and show where the light is? where you get half moon pupils etc heheh

itsd on a slight slabnt, the mouth seems to go downwards on the left of the mouth if u see what i meen....hard to explain but when you draw the lines of proportions ull udnerstand, the line going down from pupil should be almsot if not touchign the corner of the lips, then there should be another eye able to fit inbetween both etc :)

I told you this earlier that i really like the drawing. the lips are extremly realistic and full. They remind me of mine. The eyes could look more realistic if you added more lashes i think but good work Ińes!!!

please tell me what you think about the skin color and the color of the eyes in both drawings.

I think they look quite good, but you shouldn't use just one color on the skin, I just drew a colored one again, and I used like 15 different colors for the skin, that'll make it much more realistic. The eyes look pretty good, and there you used several colors :D but you should also add lashes to the bottom lid.
I like the eyebrows and hair as well. You're quite good when it comes to proportions, just one thing that you should really change is the forehead, it should be much ... "larger"... guess you know what I mean, the hair starts to low... Hope you understood :roll:

well i used 4 different colors for the skin... i coulsnt use blues, or purple too much.. i only have 12 pencils!!

THe hair is comming out quite well. Dont forget to shade the eyeballs. Or they will look flat.
