Hey Sad,
I was on your homepage, the drawings are very good, but I would say you must make more shadows, and darker. ( Sorry for my grammatik, How is the increase of dark? I don' t no....)
Try it...
Greetings!

@Blind
thanks for visiting my homepage :D well you`re right they should be darker (I`ve heard that from other persons too *g*) and I`ll try it :) I really don`t know why that`s so hard for me ;) The Cuts (specially those form the newer drawings) are looking so hard because my scanner puts so much contrast on the pictures ...and I don`t know how to change that...In Reality they are "softer" (is that the right word for that *asksherself*). But Thanks for yur critic, It`s alway nice to get some feedback :)

PS: I think "darker" is right

That' s not a criticism, i think in this forum you can't give someone a criticism. All are really good, so I think all "criticism" are tips for me.
Your pic's are very good, no question. It' s my oppinion, faces aren't so smooth, they are saliently.

oh, I my mind criticism doesn`t have to be a negative word as long as it is constructive (like yours)
And yes they are all really good. I agree with you :)

My shading techs change according to the subject which I am drawing.

I find that sometimes it pays to experiment also. I have just recently discovered how well hatching works in pencil, whwre i previously would smudge with either a finger of an earbud (q-tip).

And "they" are probably right, to a certain extent. I think art is a learning process, you pick up new tips and techniques as you go.
Not many people can just pick up a pencil and a piece of paper and create a masterpiece on their first attempt.
You make mistakes and try to learn from them.

Its like when someone tries different materials, someone may be able to draw a very good portrait in pencil but they may not be so good in oil paints or whatever. They would probably need some practice to get to grips with the new techniques they might use for that particular medium.
