When every i draw faces with pencil the skin on my drawing end up having dark blotchs on them. I'm thinking it could be the oil on my skin thats doing it.It almost like I got water spots on it . I do use good pencils and paper so i don't think its that. thanks marc

It usually doesnt matter if you use good paper or pencils, if you get an oily spot on your drawing, you're pretty much screwed :p You just have to be very careful that your hands are clean, especially if you just ate before drawing and you have stuff all over your fingers. I've done it several times and always try to cover it with dark shading or Im lucky enough that its in the hair or somewhere its easy to cover

Put a sheet of paper or tissue under your hand to prevent direct contact between the hand and the drawing, and it'll be ok ;)

It could be the oil from your fingers but it can also be mistakes in the paper. I bought a paperpad some time back and I kept finding some spots which were really dark when I drew over it. I found a pattern in each drawing and realised it was a mistake in my paper. If that's the case with yours you can remove these spots (only works sometimes) by drawing like normal on it and in the end take your kneeded eraser and try and remove some of the darkness of the spots gently.
My paper is expensive drawing paper, it does not only apply to cheap ones.
